Asia Marketing Excellence Awards Returns to Crown Asia’s Best Companies in 2017
The Asia Marketing Federation (AMF), the foremost governing body of marketing in Asia, has announced the opening of applications for the 3rd Asia Marketing Excellence Awards (AMEA), which champions companies that stay ahead of the evolution of marketing.
Companies from around Asia that have excelled in the field of marketing are eligible to send in their applications to the Asia Marketing Excellence Awards (AMEA) not later than 31st March 2017. The competition will culminate in a grand awards ceremony to be hosted in Mongolia in September 2017 by the Mongolia Marketing Association.
The 1st and 2nd AMEA was held successfully in 2015 and 2016 with over 80 companies vying for awards from countries all over Asia. It recognized companies in the Asian Region who strive for marketing excellence that reflect admirable qualities of innovativeness and ingenuity. It encouraged companies to view their customers not as mere consumers, but as human beings with minds, hearts and spirits, who are constantly on the lookout to address the anxieties and desires of their stakeholders.
The success of its past editions have positioned AMEA as the premier marketing awards event in Asia, and a large number of companies are expected to participate in the 3rd AMEA. The two most coveted awards will be the ‘Asia Marketing Company of the Year’ and ‘Asia Marketing 3.0’ awards.
The ‘Asia Marketing Company of the Year’ award recognises outstanding and innovative marketing strategies, tactics and values, and how these elements result in sales growth, market share growth and net income growth. The Asia Marketing 3.0 Award will be presented to a company with a well defined corporate culture which is incorporated in its vision, mission and values, and is reflected in its marketing strategies which specially consider the consumers’ need in mind, heart, and spirit. It also includes marketing strategies which addresses consumer demands for collaborative, cultural and spiritual marketing approaches and are reflected in the growth of market share, volume and net income.
Aside from the Asia wide award will be the Country/National awards for the same categories. Winners for each country will automatically vie for the Asia Marketing Excellence Awards Categories.
Nomination forms are available at the AMF website and submitted to your countries’ National Marketing Association.
Six committees have been formed to overlook the project headed by renowned members of AMF, together with the able support of its President Ms. Gwenn Albarracin from the Philippine Marketing Association, its first Vice President Mr. Rohan Somawansa from Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing and its 2nd Vice President Mr. Boojong Kim from the Marketers’ Society of Korea. The Nominations Committee is headed by Roger Wang of Marketing Institute of Singapore, Logistics for Judging is headed by Hendra Warsita of Indonesia Marketing Association, Finance & Sponsorship Committee by Marketing Society Of Korea, Marketing Committee by Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing, Production & Staging Committee by Altanbagana Shiituu of Mongolia Marketing Association, Judges Committee by Syed Ferhat Anwar of Marketing Society of Bangladesh. This year’s over-all chairmanship is headed by Secretary General Pinky Yee of the Philippine Marketing Association.
Asia Marketing Federation is the networking body of marketing associations in Asia. AMF has a critical mission as the premier regional body which effectively promotes the interests of marketing in Asia and strengthens the Asian marketing fraternity. Its member countries include Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

The premier marketing awards in Asia takes another bow
The Asia Marketing Federation (AMF), the premier governing body of marketing in Asia, has announced the winners of the 2nd Asia Marketing Excellence Awards (AMEA) held on the 23rd of September in Seoul, South Korea. The AMF has 16 member countries from Asia. They are Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong Region, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Mongolia.
The AMEA has two major awards, the Asia Marketing Company of the Year and the Asia Marketing 3.0 Award chosen from Country/National winners, an innovation to this year’s competition. The coveted awards have attracted 40 nominees from around 10 countries in Asia. These ten countries went through a thorough judging and declared their own national winners for National Marketing Company of the Year and National Marketing 3.0 Award.
The 2016 Asia Marketing Company of the Year award recognizes outstanding and innovative marketing strategies, tactics and values, with outstanding results in sales growth, market share growth and net income growth. This year’s award was bagged by Century Pacific Food, Inc. from the Philippines. Its success is evidenced by its presence in 58 countries. The Century Tuna is a major brand in China, Vietnam and the Middle East. It is also one of the leading brands in North America and some parts of Europe and the Pacific. The Argentina canned meat brand is making headway in the USA, Canada, the UK, Italy and Spain catering to both overseas Filipinos and a growing number of consumers in each of these markets.
The Asia Marketing 3.0 Award 2016 is presented to a company with a well defined corporate culture which is incorporated in its vision, mission and values, and is reflected in its marketing strategies which specially consider the consumers’ need in mind, heart, and spirit. This year the award went to Aarong Bangladesh – Bengali for ‘village fair’ – which is the most popular lifestyle retail chain today in Bangladesh. The first ever social business model in the world, Aarong was initiated back in 1978 by BRAC with the inclusiveness of rural women in the mainstream income generating activities. BRAC is the largest NGO in the world having its network in 12 different countries working with the mission to alleviate poverty by empowering the poor. With 16 retail stores across the country and over 100 fashion and lifestyle product lines, Aarong supports 65,000 artisans, 85% of whom are women, with fair terms of trade. Since the beginning, 100% of the profit from Aarong has been used to support the activities of other social initiatives of BRAC

The AMEA 2016 was hosted by Marketers’ Society of Korea (MASOK) in Seoul, South Korea in parallel to the AMF Annual General Meeting and the MASOK International Conference. The awards were presented by AMF Immediate Past President Takuyo Goto and AMF President Gwen Albarracin who was the overall Chair of the project together with the AMEA Co-Chair and AMF 1st Vice President Mr. Rohan Somawansa.
Judging for the ceremony was completed in Bali and hosted by the Royal Family of Ubud and the Indonesia Marketing Association last June by an eminent panel headed by one of the most respected professors in marketing in Asia, Syed Ferhat Anwar from Marketing Society of Bangladesh (MSB). The other judges in the panel include prominent figures such as Chalit Limpanavech from Marketing Association of Thailand (MAT), Masaaki Ishibashi from Japan Marketing Association (JMA), Hendra Warsita from Indonesia Marketing Association (IMA), Prof.Boojong Kim from Marketing Society of Korea (MASOK), Gantulga Sukhbaatar from Mongolian Marketing Association (MMA), Pradeep Edward from Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) and Henry Tenedero from Philippine Marketing Association (PMA).
